Description
The Security Manager (Crime Prevention), under the direction of the Uniformed Services Manager of the Public Safety Department, the incumbent is responsible for designing, planning, modifying, updating, instructing, coordinating, and evaluating all Public Safety related crime prevention activities. The Crime Prevention Manager provides progressive and coordinated operational management of the crime prevention activities for the Grady Health System. Ensures quality assurance, customer satisfaction and is expected to benchmark the best crime prevention programs. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the daily operational performance management of the crime prevention program in addition to direct supervision of the functions. Incumbent performs administrative work to coordinate crime prevention activities. Incumbent also performs all duties of a Public Safety Manager. Work requires judgment and initiative. The incumbent will also perform various administrative duties in support of the Public Safety Department's mission.  The incumbent is the back up for the Shift Managers. During their absence and when designated to do so, he/she will be responsible for the supervision and management of the operational support requirements for an assigned Shift of Public Safety Officers. Additional shift responsibilities include planning, delegating, giving instruction, getting cooperation, solving problems, staffing, training, counseling, improving and supporting operations.  ÂSECURITY SERVICES. (40 hrs./week; Day; M-F) Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Police Administration, Public Administration, or in a related field is required. However, the degree requirement may be waived in lieu of a combination of validated training and experience. Must be eligible for and must successfully obtain (and maintain) a concealed arms license from the Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies. Must be willing and able to carry a concealed weapon. Must be physically fit and be able to perform physically strenuous activity. The work varies from light duty to physically demanding (may involve running and physical confrontation).  TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: It is preferred that the incumbent have at least four years of supervisory experience in a Uniformed Division of Public Safety or Security, or at least 4 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or hospital security with at least two years of supervisory experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Drivers License and good driving record, as defined in the GHS Motor Vehicle Use Policy. Must have general knowledge of hospital security, human resources management techniques and supervisory management principles. The incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge of modern law enforcement and security practices. Due to the nature of the position, the incumbent must be able to quickly learn the GHS/HR disciplinary practices, shift deployment and management techniques, customer service and employee motivational techniques Â
