JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Sr Clinical Analyst Reports to: Manager, Clinical Applications
DEPARTMENT: Information Services FLSA: Exempt
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Clinical Manager, provides services to assigned user departments or product lines. Experienced with the Meditech Magic platform and how it integrates with other clinical systems; Meditech and non-Meditech. Is responsible for data flow into and out of assigned systems and some programming/report generation in those areas
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Evaluates users' needs and develops and implements automated solutions.
· Responds to user requests
· Creates, updates, tests, and implements dictionary maintenance
· Facilitates user group sessions to identify and solve problems.
· Develops, facilitates, and provides user training for key users.
· Communicates with vendors and support services to install/support systems
· Serves as mentor to Clinical Analysts within the department
· Maintains, checks, and ensures the integrity, security, and access, using menus, passwords, etc. Tests, troubleshoots, maintains, and updates all data interface into and out of systems in assigned user groups. Defines, implements, and programs report/search requests.
· Maintains current knowledge of changes, regulations, and computing environment.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Proficient with Meditech's clinical applications PHA, ITS, OE, NUR, CPOE PCI
· Working knowledge of patient care planning processes including multidisciplinary aspects.
· Possess a strong knowledge of computer applications and systems, interpersonal, organizational technical writing and problem solving skills.
· Ability to work with all levels of individuals within the organization
· Knowledge of Access and scripting tools desired.
· Experience working with computerized systems, preferably within a structured IS dept.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office
KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE/ REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Must have a nursing or related degree in a health care field. Computer Science or Information Management
· Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.
