COUNSELOR EDUCATOR: St. Joseph's Healthcare System

As a key member of our Community Medicine Department, you will provide HIV counseling, education, and testing to clients requesting such service, and ensure compliance with NJ Public Health Laws, NJ DOH Regulations, and corporate policies/procedures.

Responsibilities will include:
• using HIV Rapid Testing or Venipuncture
• providing post-test counseling
• completing all DOH client forms, records and statistical reports
• setting up appointments for appropriate medical care if necessary
• handling crisis intervention
• eliciting one partner contact for those testing positive
• assisting with outreach activities
•handling other related functions as required

To qualify, you must be Certified as an HIV Counselor/Tester in NJ, have an Associates Degree or higher, and possess 2-3 years of related work experience. Solid oral/written communication, analytical, problem-solving and PC skills are also essential. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
