Fire Fighter Supervisor
Job Description: Supervise Fire Suppression, EMS, HAZMAT and Prevention personnel; Ensure that all applicable rules, regulations operating guidelines are properly enforced; Support company compliance requirements coordinate and manage small and large scale emergencies, operate as Incident Commander under the Incident Command System; coordinate prevention inspections and will interface with federal, state and local law enforcement, fire services and emergency response agencies. Will Plan, schedule and assign work; manage and monitor the performance of the assigned work; and ensure that all appropriate tasks and reports are completed. Manage the utilization of departmental resources (vehicles, tools, etc.) and perform budget needs analysis and submit recommendations for equipment and material acquisition. Assist with identifying, developing, deploying training for all personnel. Maintain an orderly shift operation, track and record employee performance, and administer appropriate disciplinary actions as appropriate. Must possess strong organization skills and must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Maintain close working relationships with the numerous federal, state and local agencies involved in law enforcement, fire prevention and suppression, emergency services and regulatory compliance and audits. May be required to assist with Security Forces operations.
Required Skills: Previous supervisory experience preferred. Specific knowledge of emergency fire, ems and hazardous materials operations. Functional knowledge of MS Office and Fire House Reporting Software Applications . Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. Must be able to move freely for long periods and be willing to work extended hours when required. Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment. Must be able to learn procedures, interface with employees and customers and make judgment calls at scene. Must be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and must possess the ability to obtain a valid AZ driver's license. Must be willing to travel on company business when required.
Desired Skills: Experience in defense-related plant protection disciplines a plus. Degreed individual preferred but applicable experience will be considered.
Required Education: A.S./B.A./B.S. - Fire Sciences; Applicable experience and/or training may substitute for degree.
