Disney’s Resort at Ko Olina, O‘ahu

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is scheduled to open its first resort in Hawaii on a 21- acre, oceanfront property located at Ko Olina Resort in 2011. The new family-friendly destination will include 350 hotel rooms and 480 Disney Vacation Club timeshare villas. The resort is planned to include an 18,000 square foot spa, 8,000 square foot convention center, and expansive pool and water play area, a welcoming yard, a children’s club and two restaurants. Reporting to the Vice President, Disney Vacation Club and Resort, Hawaii, the General Manager will be immersed in all opening planning and will oversee the day-to-day operation of our new luxury family resort and be accountable for the day-to-day management of all resort operations including Front Office Operation, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Engineering, Strategic Partnerships and Resort Activities. Additionally, they will serve as a leader, mentor and coach for the overall development of a team of more than 1,000 full-time and part-time Cast Members at full build out of the resort, and provide inspiring leadership and direction for environment, conservation, safety and social responsibility initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Hotel Restaurant Management. A minimum of 10 years’ hands-on senior hospitality leadership experience in a resort environment and extensive leadership experience working in the Hawaii market is preferred. Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to define clear vision and motivate others to achieve goals as well as the ability to manage and integrate Guest, Cast and business goals to produce great results is essential. Integrating global initiatives with exceptional strategic thinking, financial, negotiating, mentoring, influencing, organizational planning and partnership skills are also required. Proven vacation ownership and Japanese skills are desired.
