About the Job:
Do you love social media? Beall’s Department Stores, Inc. is seeking a talented, creative, and passionate individual to develop and implement social media strategies. The primary role of the Social Media Specialist will be to develop and maintain the social networking space, driving the social media strategies that develop and increase store/brand awareness, generate online and in-store traffic, and ultimately drive sales. This person will work hand-in-hand with Promotions, E-commerce, store operations, and merchandising team members to ensure consistency in voice and messaging. This individual must have the ability to multi-task and be able to offer strategic creative solutions that are new, fresh and exciting for emerging forms of e-communication. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for the planning, strategy, and execution of social media programs.
- Works with and reports to the Director of Marketing/Planning to develop, refine and execute the social media marketing strategy, including the benchmarks and methods of measuring the success and effectiveness of social media programs.
- Develops and implements participation in social media sites to include but not limited to Facebook, twitter, YouTube, other relevant sites, and blogs.
- Interacts with websites and communities and makes relevant posts when appropriate.
- Acts as the Brand Steward as it relates to social media activities. Acutely aware of what is happening with the competition and strategically plans for future endeavors.
- Accountable for all social media development that may be outsourced to ensure that brand integrity is maintained.
- Works with E-commerce, Director of Marketing/Planning and the BDS Promotions Manager to help facilitate a cohesive marketing message to the customer through all channels.
- Works with merchants on new product or vendor launches, offering new channel of engagement, and a cohesive marketing package.
- Keeps the marketing and merchandising organizations and key partners aware of new Social Media trends.
- Will develop and produce reports for upper management that identify the ROI of all social marketing efforts.
REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has 2+ years of full-time experience in social media marketing, internet or public relations.
- Is an active user of social media tools and networks and how to use them to drive traffic to a website.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
- Has in in-depth knowledge of social media tools including social bookmarking, tagging, blog publishing.
- Has a strong knowledge of user-generated content, Web video and viral marketing and stays up to date on new technologies.
- Associate’s degree in marketing, communications, e-media, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Experience in social networking application development is highly desirable.
