Description

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., a global leader in business process outsourcing and IT services to commercial and government clients, is a Fortune 500 company with 75,000 employees worldwide, and looking to hire an in-house counsel to provide legal support to its Transportation Solutions Group.

 

A. Title: Corporate Counsel

 

B. Location: Germantown, Maryland

 

C. Reporting Relationship: Will report directly to the Group Counsel in Fairfax, Virginia and will be a member of the ACS Legal Department based in Dallas, Texas

 

D. Minimum Professional Qualifications:

 

1. 10 years+ legal experience with an emphasis on negotiating government contracts,

reviewing RFPs, subcontracts, software licenses, teaming agreements, and related

contract components



2. Extensive experience with government contracting in the domestic state and local

procurement marketplace



3. Mergers and acquisition experience, including due diligence support and negotiation

of transactions



4. Proven success partnering with and advising operational business units and

corporate shared service departments on risk analysis and transaction structuring of

transportation-related contracts



5. Willingness to travel


6. A commitment to excellence and quality of work


7. Proven leadership skills and ability as a decision-maker



8. Proven advocacy skills

 

E. Preferred Additional Professional Qualifications

 

1.  International transactional experience a plus


2.  Transportation industry and transportation services experience a plus

 

F. Education: Juris Doctor degree, plus active membership in a state bar (Maryland preferred)
