Financial Services Sr. Analyst - Investment Services
New York, NY/Charlotte, NC
TIAA-CREF is seeking a Sr. Analyst - Investment Services to join their Market Data Management team. The ideal candidate is expected to have a solid work experience with market data, dealing with vendors, and a strong concentration in leadership, problem solving, analytics and communications. Position is located in either our New York, NY or Charlotte, NC office.
Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with industry practices in coordinating and managing market data services - handling the day-to-day support of market data services including: coordinating user market data service requests, managing the vendor billing process, interacting with vendors, interacting with internal customers, etc.
  • Experienced at dealing with investment management professionals and front-office personnel
  • Possess a thorough understanding of fixed income, equity, and derivative products and the market data services related to those businesses
  • Act as liaison between the various groups and market data vendors as well as internal departments
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance of our Market Data Services database system (FITS)
  • Assist management in coordinating technical initiatives related to market data implementations, service upgrades, training classes, problem resolutions, etc.
  • Coordinate training sessions of market data providers with all of our internal client groups
  • Serve as point person for escalation to our market data providers (both internal and external) regarding any problems and requests for market data services
  • Take a lead role in interdepartmental and interdivisional operational project initiatives
  • Oversee and analyze business unit market data budgets and expenses

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of overall business experience with at least 2 years of market data experience preferred
  • Bachelor degree or job equivalent of not less than 7 years
  • Supervisory (project leadership) experience is preferred.
  • Use of Bloomberg, FactSet, Thomson One, Reuters a plus
  • Experience with market data management applications (i.e. FITS, MDS2000, etc.)
  • Self-managed and results-oriented
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Team player, detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Proficient utilization of MS OFFICE products
