About the Job
We are currently looking for a Dietitian to serve as a key member on the district team and provide dietary consultation to our Living Center in Batesville, MS. This employee should offer guidance in providing quality and cost effective food service and medical nutrition therapy. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing facility compliance with Federal / State Regulations and company policy and monitoring, developing, and making effective recommendations. The R.D. develops action plans and assists management in overseeing implementation.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations about documents, equipment, procedures, and costs associated with dining services in support of company policies and objectives and government regulations
• Report on each resident and provide updates to the Administrator or Director of Nursing
• Document approval for all menus, modifications, and substitutions used
• Participate in scheduled assessments, surveys, crisis intervention, and plans of action
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical nutrition and dietetics
• Participate in planning and training activities, meetings, and committees as required
• Assist in interviewing, orientation, and training of new DSMs
• Conducting special product testing, data collection, etc., as needed
Job Requirements
Candidates for the Registered Dietitian position should meet the following requirements:
• B.S. Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
• Continuing education to meet requirements for registration as set forth by the American, State, and District Dietetic Associations and to meet state licensure requirements (C.D.R.)
• Experience as a professional dietitian in long-term care with some administrative responsibility preferred
• Computer literacy, preferably experience using Microsoft Office and foodservice software
• Ability to relate positively, favorably and cooperatively in all interactions
• Valid resident state driver's license and ability to maintain regular attendance
• Meeting all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and pass post-employment physical exam if required
• Communication skills, public speaking, problem solving, technical/clinical competence, leadership and organizational skills
