The Programmer will be accountable for developing software code and associated life cycle deliverables for PC and Mainframe applications. The candidate will interpret process, data modules, and business requirements into software code. He/she will analyze, design, develop, implement and maintain moderate to complex computer programs and subsystems. The Consultant will perform all of the steps required to design, test, and code such programs. He/she will develop procedures and operating instructions, and successfully move programs into production. The candidate will also provide production support through problems analysis and resolution to correct deficiencies.

The candidate will analyze and design problem or new request resolution along with testing requirements. The Consultant must be familiar with SDLC methodologies, and have developed program specifications. He/she will also code modules according to specifications and client standards. The incumbent will prepare test plan and test modules, along with developing program and system documentation. The candidate will also conduct program and system implementation, maintain application production environment, respond and resolve to production problems for user inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent training or work experience.
• Minimum of two years as a software developer.
• Minimum 3-4 years experience in proprietary scripting language.
• Minimum 3 years experience in: VB6 development with Oracle on the back end, development using Crystal Reports 8.5, and development with Oracle PL/SQL and SQL embedded into VB.
• Required Oracle expertise includes SQL and PL/SQL syntax and commands, creating/modifying tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures and how to use these programmatically.
• This position also involves a smaller amount of javascript, vbscript, and HTML under ASP.
• Experience following a systematic software development life cycle along with the willingness and ability to write clear, comprehensive documentation are required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills are required.
• Candidate must be a self starter and self motivator.
• Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment which at times faces changing priorities, tight timelines, etc. is required.
