Inside Sales Representative – Companion Animal - Elanco

Within the Global Marketing and Sales Group for Companion Animals for Elanco Animal Health, the purpose of the Inside Sales Representative position is to maximize clinic penetration and achieve sales results for the targeted accounts within their assigned geography. They will establish relationships with accounts and partner with Elanco CAH Outside Representatives and Distributor Representatives to generate sales. The Inside Sales Representative will report directly to the Inside Sales Leader.

KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:

  • Achieve sales results and clinic penetration goals for Elanco Companion Animal Health products within an assigned geographic territory.
  • Discover and communicate potential leads to Elanco CAH Outside Sales Representatives and Distributor Representatives.
  • Partner with Elanco CAH Field Sales Representatives to identify key accounts.
  • Conduct targeted follow-up with accounts after Key Opinion Leader meetings and tradeshows.
  • Collect and capture account and veterinarian information in the sales reporting platform to assist in developing and maintaining an accurate database.
  • Utilize data in partnership with Elanco CAH Outside Sales Representatives to develop territory plan.
  • When identified, take ownership of special projects.
  • Attend veterinary conferences and industry meetings.
  • Provide territory coverage for open outside sales territories (due to extended leaves, separation or other circumstances).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Animal Health, Agribusiness or related field.
  • Knowledge of the companion animal health market, companion animal products and the veterinarian practice environment.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Travel: Minimal business travel required; trade shows, initial sales training. More extensive business travel will be required if volunteering to cover an open outside field-based sales territory (i.e. during an extended absence of a field-based sales representative).
