Our Canton based pet health insurance company is looking to add a Human Resource professional to our growing team. This person will be responsible for all functions of the human resource department including oversight of day to day activities as well as long term planning. We’re seeking a progressive, forward thinker who will bring new ideas to the table! A background in training or organizational development would be ideal!

About the Company- The Hartville Group is one of the country’s oldest and most established independent pet health insurers. We offer proprietary brands including ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, Hartville Pet Insurance, and Petshealth Care Plan. Our office employs approximately 90 of the areas best pet loving professionals in positions ranging from sales, claims & customer service to information systems & finance.

Basic Functions of the Position- Administer human resource policies and practices, including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing. Formulate policies and procedures & recommend practices to management. Develop and implement companywide organizational and employee development programs.

Areas of Job Responsibilities Include-

· Labor relations

· Personnel policies

· Benefits administration

· Records maintenance

· Unemployment, Workers’ Compensation, COBRA, FMLA administration

· Performance management

· Recruitment and retention strategy

· New hire on boarding and orientation

· Employee training and development

Ideal candidate will possess the following competencies-

· Analytical thinking

· Problem solving skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Leadership

· Sound judgment

· Ability to work well with others

Education/Training-

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field required

· 3-5 years related experience

· PHR or SPHR certification a plus
