The Provident Bank, a multi-billion dollar New Jersey Bank, with branches in ten counties is seeking an experienced Assistant Branch Manager for our Morris County Branches.
The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) has direct responsibility for operations of the branch, including the management of tellers. The ABM monitors performance and makes personnel decisions related to teller staffing, handles teller scheduling to effectively meet branch productivity and efficiency standards, assures customer service standards are achieved, and is responsible for the staff adhering to operational compliance policies and procedures.
The ABM provides required reporting related to operations and control. Security of equipment and inspections, financial controls, collections and loss handling, as well as the daily opening and closing procedures are handled by the ABM. The ABM may be required to supplement platform sales and service responsibilities as necessary. In the absence of the Branch Manger, the ABM assumes the overall management of the entire branch.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. AIB coursework desirable.

EXPERIENCE: 3 5 years progressive banking experience, prior supervisory necessary and at least 2 years Assistant Manager experience.

Knowledge of sales principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of CSR operating methods and teller terminal.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of retail banking procedures, policies, and operations.
Additional Skills:
  • Plan and effectively allocate resources
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively coach and manage staff performance
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Ability to evaluate others on their ability to accurately use a computer, ability to sell and cross-sell banking products, dress professionally, spell, and do basic math accurately.
  • Good PC skills (Excel and Word) and the ability to quickly learn other computer programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule as requested. Willing and able to travel to other locations/branches as necessary.
