Job Details:

- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
Under the direction of the Director, Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, or designee, the Nurse Associate will assist the staff in providing high quality, timely patient care, and care for department equipment and supplies as directed. · Participates as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under the direction of an RN, and within the nursing student scope of practice to provide patient care and other patient needs in a timely manner and communicates effectively with all members of the patient care team. · Assists with obtaining, maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment as directed. · Assists with transportation of patients and equipment as needed. · Accurately, legibly, concisely, thoroughly and in a timely manner completes all necessary documentation, department logs and reports. · Attends and participates in at least 50% of department staff meetings as well as participates in hospital meetings, forums and seminars. · Follows standard precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment. · Performs vital signs, temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressures, accurately and reports findings to RN in a timely manner. · Successfully meets other criteria as determined by the Nursing Division. In addition to the above, the Nurse Associate who has successfully completed the advanced med/surg clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program (to be verified by grade and or confirmation with faculty) may also perform the following: · Performs Accucheck Glucose Testing and report results to RN in a timely manner. · Performs simple dressing changes under the supervision of the RN. · Remove IMB's under the direction of an RN. · Discontinue foley catheters under the supervision of an RN. · Change ostomy bags under the supervision of an RN. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
