Web Metrics Analyst The ideal candidate will be a clear-thinking problem solver with strong analytic skills. He or she would have at least 3-to-5 year’s hands-on experience as a web analyst in a direct-to-consumer environment. Responsibilities include: • Analyze quantitative data collected through web user click stream and perform analysis. • Identify strategic trends and actionable consumer insights, based on a clear understanding of business objectives. • Make actionable recommendations to refine programs and to modify user path to enhance site design, functionality, and conversions. • Perform campaign analysis for marketing initiatives. • Identify Key Performance Indicators for all online products including websites, social networking applications, widgets, video, podcasts etc. • Work with the marketing and product management teams and participate in discussion to develop requirements for program or site enhancements. • Work with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, design reports to meet the requirements, and work to make sure the reports are properly interpreted and used. Respond to ongoing internal customer requests for data and analysis. • Serve as internal subject matter expert on the reporting tools and metrics by providing information on best practices, benchmarks, key performance indicators, etc. Identify data discrepancies and resolve data integrity issues. • Help increase website conversion rates. • Manage vendor relationships for both research (e.g. Forrester, Jupiter) and reporting tools • Communicate and present findings within the organization. • Proactively identify and resolve reporting issues through communication with the reporting tool vendor • Develop and maintain a detailed reporting schedule to track ongoing reports and incoming requests for reports • Run website and ebook sales reports
Required skills: • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with special emphasis on Excel • Experience in translating usability findings into site enhancement opportunities. • Advanced analysis and reporting skills. • Logical and strategic thinking. • Creativity in analyzing data and problem solving. • Willingness to take initiatives and ownership. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Qualifications • 3-5 years experience in reporting and metrics in a direct to consumer environment • Understanding of online metrics and experience with website traffic analytics software such as WebTrends, WebSideStory (HitBox/HBX), CoreMetrics, Omniture, Visual Sciences • Proficient in Excel • Proficient in Business Objects • Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail • Ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision • BA required with degree in marketing, mathematics, statistics or economics preferred • Understanding of reporting and metrics in Web 2.0 technologies such as widgets, video, podcasts, social marketing • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Keen ability to use analytic skills and data-mining tools to develop business-applicable conclusions. • Avid internet user and passion for analyzing online trends, behaviors and new technologies Interested candidates should log on to www.simonsays.com/careers/ to apply.
