Job Description
Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces technical data for major publication projects. Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. May participate in the establishment of style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations. May provide work leadership for lower level employees. Ensures final publication of military test documentation and reports, such as deficiency reports, NTAB yellow sheet reports, and various technical reports. Assist with the continual updating and maintenance of the documentation tracking database. Archive and distribute documents, information, and notices, as tasked. Produce weekly Team Notes and Monthly/Annual Squadron Notes detailing current status and past events for all projects. Familiar with the “Chicago Manual of Style,” the “U.S. Government Style Manual,” “The NAVAIR RDT&E Report Writing Handbook” and general industry formats. Some light lifting; moderately sedentary; some walking and stair climbing is required throughout the squadron/hangar/parking areas. There are no elevators in the hangars, and parking can be several hundred yards from building location. This position requires extensive hand-carried routing efforts throughout the document review/publication process.
Required Skills
Bachelors Degree required with a minimum of five (5) years experience supporting a ACAT-ID test program. Familiarity with current RDT&E reports and publication procedures and the US Government Style Guide a plus. Must be knowledgeable of engineering and/or scientific report formats. Ability to interface extensively with various levels of government, military and contractor personnel in a positive manner, even under strenuous situations. Must be able to adapt to changing deadlines as project/acquisition priorities fluctuate. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the SECRET level.
Required Experience
