Our client is seeking an Infrastructure Cabling Engineer. This person will bring cabling expertise to assist the Client in achieving short term and long term expectations and goals. Candidates who are qualified and interested are encouraged to apply.

This position must have three years of experience in fiber and copper cable design. Candidates must have familiarity with different Categories of copper cabling and protocols and applications supported by each. This person must be able to distinguish between the different types of fiber optic cabling and know the most common ways to tell the difference. The individual must have basic knowledge of wireless LAN and VoIP Voice over Internet Protocol technologies. Candidates must have experience in both inside and outside plant cabling. The individual must have the ability to work in both Visio and AutoCAD to create layouts of equipment rooms, back boards and racks. Candidates must be able to read blue prints and be familiar with common architectural and electrical symbols and must have RCDD certification. The client is looking for an individual that has experience in calculating both electrical and mechanical loads for IT rooms, and is familiar with the terms associated with both. This position will require travel to multiple sites through out the bay area sometimes two or three on the same day. The client will prefer someone who is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer. This position requires an individual who is a self starter and can perform the job on a daily basis without direction from others.

This position pays 30.00 hourly
