Summary Senior Media Planners possess up-to-date knowledge of the media marketplace and maintain relationships with key outside vendors. They build mid-level Client relationships and oversee day-to-day projects to ensure that deliverables are met. Senior Media Planners are responsible for training junior-level media department staff for advancement. Team members in this role are expected to negotiate with media vendors and work with the Media Supervisor to develop strategic recommendations that meet client-marketing objectives. Responsibilities Media Planning · Work with the Media Supervisor to develop strategic channel/media approach that will meet client objectives · Develop a considered vehicle list (i.e., considered sites, publications, lists, etc.) · Lead in the development of the recommendation document · Utilize media research tools and resources to aid in campaign development Media Buying · Develop Request for Proposals and field any vendor questions surrounding the RFP · Evaluate returned RFPs and determine vehicle selections · Develop the final buy recommendation and buy summary · Present the recommendation to the client Media Implementation and Maintenance · Manage Associate Planners and Media Planners in the following tasks: · Gathering of creative spec data for creative · Developing insertion orders and purchase orders · Trafficking, QA and monitoring of a campaign · Invoice reconciliation/Bill-Pay process · Manage cross-departmental issues/questions regarding campaign execution Results Analysis · Provide Measurement with necessary information and document framework to pull results data (e.g., measurement variables, buy summaries, etc.) · Analyze the data with Measurement · Develop and present a concise results deck highlighting the relevant learning gained and recommendations for future campaigns Client Service/Relations · Maintain appropriate mid-level Client relationships · Serve as day-to-day Client contact on media issues · Build Client respect and be recognized as a leader on their business · Sell new project ideas to Client and help to grow business Supervisory Skills · Plan/prioritize teamwork and delegate responsibilities accordingly · Work with account teams to ensure a seamless integration of work · Sell the media department capabilities across teams/agencies · Effectively motivate staff, evaluate performance, and provide feedback on productivity · Develop and train Media Planners Assistant Media Planners for advancement Ensure quality control of all media deliverables to Clients · Oversee that the Media Planners are effectively negotiating media costs, positioning, and added value packages on behalf of Clients · Manage vendor relationships · Be the day-to-day contact for vendors specific to client business · Aid in the management of general media department solicitations Qualifications · Minimum of 3-5 years' experience of online media planning required. Multi-channel experience preferred · Bachelor degree required, however exceptions would be considered on a case by case basis · Clear understanding of the media planning and buying process (multi-channel preferred) · Ability to understand client objectives and how they translate into media strategies · Able to manage day-to-day program execution · Solid understanding of general advertising and direct marketing performance metrics · Understanding of the strengths/weaknesses of media research tools and how to effectively use them · Proven proficiency in computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) · Strong written and oral communication skills · Negotiation skills · Time management skills · Proficient in managing numbers EOE interactive, digital, media planning, media buying PLEASE APPLY USING THIS BUTTON ONLY
