Position Information:
Job Title: Senior Pricing & Contracts Specialist
Location: Alameda, CA
Duration: 6 months
Compensation: Open $/hour

Job description:

We are looking for someone to be responsible for ensuring that ADC contracts are consistent with overall pricing strategies that ensure goal achievement, while maximizing profit margin, assuring customer satisfaction, meeting legal guidelines, and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Develop pricing models to determine optimal price points for various contract scenarios.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Responsible for developing creative proposals and contracts for various channels within ADC.
  • Ensure that ADC contracts meet legal guidelines and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Support Manager(s) / Director, Contracting and Pricing, and all other Sales and Marketing Directors on an as needed basis.
  • Qualify sales opportunity for appropriate business contracting arrangements while providing decision support to sales and marketing teams to enable management of businesses while protecting Abbott’s interest and profitability and ensure that all proposed contracts are properly aligned with marketing objectives.
  • Provide direction on marketing strategies, national account contract and pricing strategies, and systems support.
  • Responsible for all contract development activities related to the launch of new products. Lead, coordinate and execute tasks required to ensure that product launch timeframes are met.
  • Manage and prioritize contract development activities.
  • Develop and deliver proposal presentations to customers and assists with the negotiation of contractual arrangements.
  • Ensures compliance with governmental/domestic regulations, as well as monitoring a report of sales transactions for customers to ensure they are not below government or contract pricing.
  • Responsible for informing and coordinating with others within ADC, the terms and conditions within individual contracts. Business scope includes blood glucose products covered within Supply, Chargeback, Managed Care, Clinical Study, Distributor Direct, GPO, Letter of Participation, Purchasing, Rebate and trade agreements.
  • Initiate and manage the contract implementation process for new contracts and amendments to existing contracts.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree. Masters Degree in business or healthcare discipline preferred. Position requires strong balance of interpersonal and conceptual skills resulting from education and work experience. Information handled in this position is considered to be confidential and could affect competitive and legal situations.

BACKGROUND:

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

Knowledge of ADC products, contracting/pricing philosophies and pricing policies.

Effective administrative, leadership, communication and project management skills.

Experience with Contracting and Pricing, Customer Service, Finance, Information Systems.

Ability to interface comfortably with all levels within the organization.

High attention to detail and have a comfort level with meeting deadlines.

6-8 years of related work experience with a minimum of 2 years in Pricing/Contracting or Sales required.

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE: The incumbent is responsible for supporting all channels within ADC Sales and Marketing. Accountable for maintaining and developing designated channel (Mail Order/DME) contracts in a timely manner, meeting customer needs, and following all Abbott guidelines and applicable laws. Accountable for ensuring Sales Channels adhere to approved pricing guidelines. Accountable for determining optimal pricing based upon appropriate pricing analysis to maximize sales and margin.
