Supported by thorough knowledge of general accounting terms, concepts and practices and a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management, the successful candidate will assist the Manager Customer Support by providing day-to-day leadership to a team of Accounts Receivable personnel in support of Customer Accounts activities (Cash Application, A/R Maintenance, A/R Administration, Reporting Unidentified Cash, Unidentified Claims and Unclaimed Property Research).
Specifically, the Assistant Manager Customer Accounts will:
- Support and work closely with Manager Customer Accounts in the administration of the Customer Accounts Department.
- Oversee daily operations of the Accounts Receivables Department's Supervisors and their units.
- Maintain operational knowledge of each Accounts Receivable, ARIS, and related software systems and their interaction with related systems. (Cams, Claim Tracking, Credit, ACH and Credit Card, Lockbox Feeds, G/L and any other system that reacts with Accounts Receivables.
- Obtain operational knowledge of all system setups and tables that relate to each software package maintained by Accounts Receivable.
- Work with Department Manager to review and assure that staff follows policies and procedures pertaining to Accounts Receivable, Accounting and Human Resources. Assure that work performed by staff is SOX compliant.
- Work with Department Manager to review and develop best practices for Accounts Receivables, including systems and procedures. Partner with manager and staff to attain annual goals set for the department by the VP of Financial Services.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications include:
A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including at least 2 years finance/accounting leadership experience. Previous management experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of the company's regulatory policies, practices, procedures and standards related to accounts receivable.
Intermediate PC skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, email etc. In-depth knowledge of all department specific software and database systems.
SAP/International exposure a plus.
Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to communicate with others in an antagonistic situation using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group and to work independently, set priorities, handle multiple tasks with concentration speed and accuracy to meet deadlines.
