LEV I~ JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I performs a variety of Clinical Laboratory procedures with an expected high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Preventive Maintenance, routine problem solving, teaching, and Lead Technologist functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a current and valid State of California Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, which is to be displayed in the Laboratory
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Biology, Microbiology, or other related science and satisfactory completion of a formal Clinical Laboratory Internship Program
One-year experience as a Licensed Medical Technologist under a qualified director in a full service Clinical Laboratory
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under routine and stressful situations in an accurate and timely manner
Practical and current knowledge in all appropriate laboratory disciplines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a pediatric setting is preferred
Registration and/or certification in a state and/or nationally recognized professional organization such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is preferred
