Functional Description:


The Publications/Communications Specialist has the overall responsibility to handle all provider/client publications, web updates, responding to Wyoming Department of Health (Wyoming Medicaid/EqualityCare) communications/requests, user documentation, and development of Computer Based Training (CBT) courses and monitoring CBT via Learning Management Software (LMS).


MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Compiles, organizes rewrites and edits Operational Procedures, System Documentation and other source material provided by technical and non-technical staff.

2. Provides expertise regarding presentation, including organization, format, layout and style.

3. Edits documentation for accuracy and consistency.

4. Prepares or assist in the preparation and distribution of program materials and computer based training modules.

5. Ensures that all contract requirements for program communications and print materials are met or exceeded.

6. Oversees and coordinates updates to existing materials.

7. Works with other managers to ensure that contract requirements for quality, materials deployment and communication are met.

8. Develops computer based training courses for Medicaid/EqualityCare providers and monitors course completions via the Learning Management Software.

9. Works with technical resources to maintain and modify internal and external web sites, serving as the key resources for layout and content.

10. Addresses Wyoming Department of Health inquires within one business day.

11. Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED:

1. Excellent attendance (prompt and dependable).

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

3. Good organizational skills and decision making ability.

4. Detail oriented with a commitment to quality, confidentiality and accuracy.

5. Ability to prioritize daily tasks along with special project demands

6. Demonstrated writing proficiency, e.g. accuracy, clarity and stylistic consistency.

7. Ability to work independently, but as part of a team concept.

8. Must be a self-starter and self-motivated

9. Proficiency in the use of personal computers (Microsoft Office Suite preferred) and related publication software applications.

10. Strong customer service orientation.



Education and Typical Years Experience

PREFERRED:

1. Associates Degree

2. Previous experience with large scale publications
