Chemical Operator – 2nd Shift (Plymouth)(Product Builder III)
JOB PURPOSE Primary focus is to support production by following processes and ensuring equipment is ready to meet production goals. Take additional responsibilities and communicate with Production Support Coordinators and Engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands, adheres to, and promotes safety policies and practices.
2. Responsible for quality and adheres to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively identifies and communicates quality issues and concerns; actively pursues resolution of issues by utilizing all resources.
3. Operates and calibrates all chemical monitoring equipment by following all processes in which certified.
4. Collects and records data required in each process and communicates results with Production Support Coordinators and Chemical Operators on all shifts.
5. Demonstrates, promotes, and suggests ideas for Lean Manufacturing and related principles. Takes an active role by participating on teams that drive Lean activities.
6. Demonstrates proficiency in all communication, including written and spoken, as well as basic math skills and basic chemistry knowledge.
7. Required to participate in Shared Leadership. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in their implementation.
8. Responsible for attending and passing all required BSC and site-specific training (i.e. QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training).
9. Prepares chemical samples for MTA&E analysis and interfaces with MTA&E to record subsequent results.
10. Monitors all supplies used in chemical analysis processes and procures as necessary.
11. Cleans and maintains chemical lab as required. Basic knowledge regarding chemical hazards is necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS High School degree or equivalent required.
Typical minimum experience is 1-2 years in chemical processing environment. Demonstrated ability to follow processes, has a complete understanding of the technical job duties and their practical applications to problems and situations.
