The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to
strict deadlines and within budget. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal networks involving coordination among groups. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope, goals and deliverable that support business objectives in collaboration with key stakeholders and direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Develop project plans and associated communication documents and also effectively communicate with key stakeholders and the project team members providing them an update in a timely manner.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to support the project. Prepare and submit budget proposals and recommend changes where necessary
- Plan and schedule Project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Prepare and deliver status reports, proposals and requirements documentation.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans.
- Conduct Project Post mortems and identify key elements that worked well within the project and areas where it requires improvement.
Experience
- University degree and requires a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in the Project Management capacity including all aspect of process development and execution.
- Strong familiarity with Project Management tools like Microsoft Project
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new and special assignments. May supervise the activities of others.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Customer service skills an asset
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
