Ideal candidate needs to understand hospital inpatient and outpatient coding and editing.
Job responsibilities include the following:
1.Provide clinical support to the facility editing product development teams
2.Serve as a liaison between the coding and product teams
3.Serve as resource to explain facility edits and the coding requirements around the edit
4.Develop documentation to identify sources of edits
5.Working with product management teams on developing editing software tools and recommending additional edits for both payers and providers
6.Provide clinical support to potential and current clients to explain edits

Qualifications
- Credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CPC
- Hospital ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding (Inpatient and Outpatient) with knowledge of Medicare editing (OCE, LCD/NCD, MCE) and reimbursement (MS-DRG and APC)
- Assesses and interprets customer editing needs and requirements related to clinical coding
- Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
- Acts as a resource for others with less experience
Additional experience that would be useful:
- 3 years experience working with payers on hospital reimbursement
