The Associate Engineer System Performance is responsible for collecting and using hourly and daily service measurement data to optimize the network and reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts; creating new cell site translations and neighbor lists in support of regional build program activity; and supporting System Performance and RF Engineers in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems (dropped calls, static, interference). Other responsibilities include: reporting problems to appropriate engineers; resolving customer service issues; and assisting in implementing solutions; collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization; troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints and trouble tickets; creating maps for network optimization and planning; and conducting special engineering studies (PLMs, RF Call Trace).

Qualifications: BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. 0-1 year of experience in the cellular or telecommunications' industry. Understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies: -System Performance including: RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for Nortel, and/or Lucent infrastructure. -System Design including: AMPS, CDMA, CDPD, and 3G1X. -Voice cells infrastructure including: Lucent or Nortel, and CDMA data. -Voice switch infrastructure including: Lucent 5E and ECP, and Nortel MTX. -Operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, and MS Office. -Wireless data service including: CDPD, CDMA, CSD, CDMA, Flexent Modular cells (CDMA & PCS), and 3G technology. -Test equipment including: Pilot scanners, baseline equipment and spectrum analyzers. -Software Experience: Actix or Windcatcher analysis software, DataPro, and MapInfo.
