- Working with the TMRS Test Development Manager, the Project Manager will manage a variety of Test & Measurement Research Services internal department responsibilities and support functions.
- Establish relationships with various TMRS work groups and internal Pearson department contacts. Serve as a point-of-contact to Pearson and TMRS work groups for day-to-day management support functions. Maintain proper decorum in telephone and personal contact with customers, vendors, visitors and Pearson staff.
- Interpret Pearson business requirements and information needs pertinent to TMRS. Collaborate with TMRS and Pearson cross-functional teams to oversee the collection and dissemination of information. Plan and manage the implementation of cost, resource, and employee management processes within TMRS.
- Gather, manage information, and advise TMRS functional managers on department business decisions.
- Identify and analyze problems through to resolution. Consult with Test Development Manager and TMRS management team as needed to devise and implement solutions in a timely manner. Formulate and recommend alternative solutions that go beyond the obvious.
- Manage department records and implement TMRS resource planning and training strategies across multiple locations.
- Manage updates to various inter departmental forecasts recognizing and managing the associated cost implications.
- Oversee resource pools and advise functional managers regarding staff availability for large customer review meetings.
- Manage the TMRS contractor database, oversee the development and approval of contracts and SOW, and manage the contractor payment process.
- Oversee or conduct the production of materials for a variety of TMRS customer review meetings.
- Work closely with Test Development Managers, project managers, other content developers, Research Scientists, and other group users of assessment content.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Overtime may be required
Some travel may be required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Strong project experience working concurrently on multiple projects with challenging deadlines required. Some project management experience, including the scheduling and management of multiple projects, is desired.
- Expertise with word processing and professional office applications such as Microsoft Word and MS Excel, is required and solid experience with MS Access and/or MS Project is preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task, be flexible, work in a changing and growing environment, and work with multiple people or teams to manage and accurately track activities across more than one worksite.
- Must be able to handle multiple demands from many people, set priorities, have a high level of attention to detail, and complete high quality work in a timely manner.
- Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to handle confidential information and materials in an appropriate manner.
- Knowledge or use of project management methodologies (PMBOK) preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience in education, large-scale educational measurement, or item development is desired.
