We currently have an excellent opportunity in our Silicon Valley office for a Patent Analyst - Intellectual Property.

The Patent Analyst will assist clients in proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), and provide scientific depth and technical analysis of prior art in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering patent litigation.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Prepare and prosecute patent applications, including drawings.

· Prepare and prosecute reexamination requests.

· Intellectual Property Diligence for Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as venture investments.

· Technical document review.

· Identify and review prior art.

· Draft Office Action Responses.

· Work directly with scientists.

· Stay current with local court rules and rules / regulations applicable to specialty or specific discipline.

· Perform various administrative tasks as required.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must possess a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS). Advanced degree is a plus. Work experience in the technology industry is highly desirable. Exceptional organization, verbal, and written communication skills, plus proven detailed knowledge and understanding of complex issues and procedures are expected. Must be able to work with little or no supervision on very complex matters.
