Online Sales Manager

JRC Interactive is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual responsible for managing online sales for the local newspaper. This individual will be responsible for working with the newspaper sales reps to identify, sell and close new business leveraging existing advertising relationships. This individual will also be responsible for prospecting, selling and closing new business from non-newspaper advertisers in the local market. The qualified individual must have strong leadership track record, strong diplomatic, organizational and creative skills and must be able to work with the retail and classified sales departments. You will have a sophisticated knowledge of online advertising and a broad understanding of media.

This individual will report to the Ad Director/Publisher at the newspaper with a dotted line report to the Director of Online Sales.

Requirements:
*Successful media sales record of at least 4 years including 4 years in the online sector
*Successful record as a sales manager with a track record for developing talent and increasing productivity from salespersons under supervision
*Superior skills in all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, presenting, negotiating and closing sales
*Understand and embrace the entrepreneurial environments and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the building of a premier online media company
*The ability to sell based on value not price and a knack for consultative selling
*An understanding of the digital media landscape, as well as a solid grasp of technology and the Web
*Strong understanding of industry trends, technologies and pricing models
*Strong knowledge of ad campaign metrics and analysis
*Excellent understanding of agency dynamics and how they operate and campaign buying and planning
*Understanding of audience profiles, online ad targeting, and campaign optimization
*Ability to work and motivate print salespersons to sell online advertising opportunities to existing advertising base
*BA/BS degree required
