Woodard & Curran is seeking a Mechanic in Winter Garden, Florida. Water Conserv II is the largest reuse project of its kind in the world, combining agricultural irrigation with aquifer recharge via rapid infiltration basins (RIBs). Applicant is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs of large diameter piping, tanks, rapid infiltration basins, valves and compressors. Specific duties include locating underground utilities, operating a truck, crane, cutting torch and using hand tools. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, as required for emergency call outs.
:
• Must have completed high school level courses in math and English. • Three years experience in mechanical maintenance. • Experience in the maintenance of water transmission pipelines and distribution facilities. • Experience in the maintenance of vehicles, tractor backhoe, farm-type tractors, farm implements, front-end loader, motor grader, and landscape maintenance equipment a plus. • Requires good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills; a good scientific and mechanical aptitude; and the ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, and other equipment. • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. • Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions. • Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees. • Must possess a Florida backflow tester certification and repair certification or obtain one or both within twelve (12) months of date of hire. • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. • Must be willing to work schedules which may include weekend or holiday duty, carry a company-provided cell phone, and be willing to respond to emergencies at any time.
