Provides comprehensive marketing communications and sales support to a defined business group. - Executes projects to support strategic and conceptual selling in the field, including the identification of prospects and conducting research to qualify prospects.
- Collaborates with PCLIS and PCS colleagues to develop unique ways to approach and execute strategies to support sales initiatives.
- Assists field offices in the development and editing of sales and stewardship directed communications. Adapts existing communications to meet tailored needs of multiple situations. Ensures appropriate approvals are in place prior to publication.
- Handles direct marketing initiatives to client prospects and oversees marketing mailings.
- Develops copy and conducts research for printed materials such as articles, newsletters, presentations, and event literature.
- Coordinates promotional activities such as public relations, communications calendars, and advertising campaigns to align with project goals. Develops content and messaging, determines communications outlets, and coordinates distribution.
- Coordinates national events for marketing and internal purposes including arrangements for all on-site facilities, room reservations, transportation, catering, promotional collateral, and more.
- Manages and maintains colleague intranet, posting timely information and creating innovated new ways to keep content fresh.
- Assists with the development of sales collateral and marketing materials (e.g., brochures, flyers, internal and external newsletters) including content development, production, and dissemination.
- Develops electronic monthly referral source newsletter and works with field to manage usage.
- Develops and updates internal and external presentations.
- Reviews all marketing output to ensure correctness and alignment with Marsh brand and style standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree with marketing or communications emphasis strongly preferred.
- Two - six years experience in marketing, communications, sales support and/or event management.
- Knowledge of graphic software programs including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator required.
- Superior writing and editorial skills (including research, copy development, and publication both internally and externally in print and online) required.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate highly technical and complex information to simple copy.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Professional writing experience producing written material for clients, general public, or employees is highly desired.
- Knowledge of integrated marketing and/or the insurance industry is preferred.
- Must understand internet usage and functionality
- Proven time management skills are necessary. Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver timely and accurate work products, and respond with a sense of urgency as required.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions with little need for direction and to function effectively as a team-oriented, self-starter working across cross-functional lines.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and strong problem solving skills.
