Channel Marketing Manager

Imation Corp is undergoing a major transformation from an engineering and manufacturing company to a brand management company. In addition to the Imation brand, Imation Corp's global brand portfolio includes TDK Life on Record brand and Memorex brand; one of the most widely recognized names in the consumer electronics industry, famous for the slogan, "Is it live or is it Memorex?"

We seek an accomplished Channel Marketing Manager to work for Imation.

In this role you will be responsible for identifying, developing and managing all channel marketing functions for the Imation/TDK Life of Record/Memorex portfolio of products. The position will support efforts to profitably promote, sell, position and manage Imation/TDK Life on Record/Memorex branded Blank Media, Optical Drives and Accessory products in the US and Canadian retail market place.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Analyze account financial commitments and SKU level financial impact with Sales Management
  • Prepare, coordinate and spearhead account presentation strategy and development with Sales Management, Merchandising Team and Product Marketing Teams
  • Travel to accounts to present new products, promotions or plan-o-gram recommendations to account
  • Support Sales Management by coordinating projects with internal cross-functional teams (i.e. operations/inventory, merchandising, graphics, finance, etc)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Sales Management and Product Marketing teams to aid in communication and implementation of promotional programs
  • Partner with in house Graphics team and/or third party vendors to develop and deliver promotional collateral

PROMOTION MANAGEMENT:

  • Communicate promotional strategy and pricing to sales team
  • Sales promotion planning (SKU level) and active marketing for all products
  • Develop and implement category focused promotional programs with the help of the sales force, maximizing utilization of marketing development funds (MDF)
  • Manage SKU level product promotional planning activity effectively and profitably
  • Organize and actively participate in tactical promotional planning sessions with the Sales and Marketing teams and participate in strategic planning sessions

ANALYSIS & REPORTING

  • Review and understand competitive analysis reports (Retailer Ad Tracker, Store Shop Reports, NPD Sell-Thru Reports, etc).
  • Review and understand implications of reporting tools such as product forecasts, purchasing sales inventory (PSI), sell through and ad schedules
  • Identify and manage account level product life cycles with Sales Management and Product Marketing teams
  • Identify and manage potential pricing and promotion channel conflicts while pro-actively assisting in avoiding/resolving issues as they occur
  • Stay abreast of retail needs, competitive products, brands, pricing and feature sets.
  • Report competitive pricing and promotional activities occurring in all channels of distribution

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The qualified candidate will have 3 to 5 years of marketing experience.
  • Bachelors Degree - Required (Marketing - Channel)
  • Experience marketing consumer products at retail
  • Understanding of Consumer Electronics industry
  • Business and Financial Acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven, can-do attitude
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
