ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN ACCOUNTING Full-Time, Tenure Track Available August 22, 2010. Responsibilities: Teaching courses in accounting and other business disciplines on-campus and distance education settings. Additional duties include academic advising, research and scholarly activity, and academic and professional service to the university and the community. Qualifications: The position requires one of the following four educational backgrounds: (1) a masters degree in Accounting; (2) an MBA and current licensure as a Certified Public Accountant [CPA], Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); (3) an advanced degree in a business discipline and CPA licensure; (4) a law degree and CPA licensure. Applicants must possess specialized educational or professional experience in either tax accounting or auditing. Additional requirements: excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated commitment to or experience with racially diverse populations; and willingness to teach courses in classroom settings and at a distance using alternative delivery methods. Preferred qualifications: licensure as a CPA, CMA, CIA, or CFE; doctorate in accounting; a combination of two years of college level teaching or experience as an accounting practitioner; experience using accounting, educational and tax software. Responsibilities: Teaching and possible course development primarily of undergraduate business courses in law and management/international business. Additional responsibilities will include academic advising, involvement in distance learning activities, engaging in scholarly activity and providing professional service to the department, university and the community. Qualifications: Specialization in Law and Management: Minimum qualifications are 1) a Masters degree in a business related field; 2) Juris Doctorate; 3) excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills; 4) demonstrated commitment to or experience with diverse populations; 5) ability to teach business law and management and/or international business; 6) at least 2 years of college level teaching or four years of field experience. Preferred qualifications are: 1) Doctorate in Business or law related field; 2) experience using educational software and 3) willingness to teach students in the classroom and at a distance using alternative delivery methods.
