We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales/Support Engineer to be based in our Burbank, CA location. Reporting to the Manger of Technical Services, this position is responsible for providing pre-sales support to our sales team. Responsibilities include explaining the features and benefits of conferencing solutions; comparing it to those of a vendor's products; delivering product presentations to technical and management personnel and communicating with sales and product managers regarding customer needs. Additional responsibilities include providing on-site support and product installation if need for proof of concepts; handling technical presentations at trade shows and conferences; completing RFI/RFP; identifying client requirements and ensuring proactive communications with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
This position is also responsible for the timely and effective handling of customer service calls related to all GBH products other than headsets. This involves working with customers to troubleshoot their equipment, and recommending the appropriate course of action in each case.
The essential functions of this position include: · Answer customer calls and provide exceptional remote assistance to clients and other team members · Assist sales team with design/integration quotes · Answer pre sales technical questions · Provide exceptional INTERNAL customer service by supporting GBH’s internal video equipment to ensure operability and reliability · Test returned video systems and troubleshoot and upgrade, as needed · Assist with customer demos, as needed · Provide end-user training over video to customers · Work with manufacturers to ensure complete problem diagnostics and initiate replacement, as needed · Use and update database tools for service and installation tickets, as well as other customer and product information accuracy
We are seeking an individual with the following qualities: · Experience to include integration and technical support of Audio/Video equipment for corporate deployments, in pre-sales or post-sales engagements Knowledge of H.320,H.323, SIP protocols. · Ability to read network captures and a working knowledge of Ethereal is a + · Knowledge of ISDN T1/E1, Ethernet. Cisco Certified (CCNA or other desired) Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, Routers, and Firewalls required · Working knowledge of MCU's and related Network products. (i.e. Gatekeepers, Gateways, Management Software) · Basic understanding of Server OS and Applications (Win2k3 server, IIS,SQL) · Ability to multi-task between concurrent customer situations and provide escalation assistance when needed · Ability to work with management on developing process improvements Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. · Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively train others · Ability to work in conjunction with a team and management to reach/exceed the client/customer service satisfaction · Demonstration of a customer service orientation through a proven ability to work well with channels, partners, and end-user customers
