Microarray Laboratory Technologists: Staff Icons

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director the candidate will use Affymetrix and Agilent chips for expression profiling in our CLIA certified clinical laboratory. The candidate should also be proficient in molecular biology techniques and analysis software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Provide high quality RNA expression data by performing RNA isolation, cDNA conversion, and hybridization.

· Work in a team atmosphere providing gene expression support for various projects. Operate & maintain laboratory equipment.

· Develop organization skills, presentation skills & attention to detail.

· Communicate effectively with colleagues and senior management.

· Utilize computer based systems for data collection.

· Maintain accurate records of all work performed and all data produced

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

· 3+yrs MicroArray exp

· Running Microarray’s on Agilent and Affymetrix platforms

· Knowledge of CAP/CLIA requirements

· Worked on Diagnostic and Research projects
