IHI Veterinary Research Technician - perform all tasks related to the day-to-day operation of the IHI surgical research facility. These tasks will include anesthesia, animal care and husbandry, facility, and equipment maintenance. This position is subject to occasional irregular hours or rotating weekend duties. Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience and the IHI offers an excellent benefits package. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applicants should e-mail or fax their resume and a cover letter to the address below Duties/Responsibilities: Provide assistance for surgical procedures, including but not limited to: operating room organization, inventory maintenance, surgical preparation, surgical assistance, anesthesiology, pre and post-operative care, report writing and other routine and emergency animal care. Education/Experience Requirements: Strong preference for a highly skilled lab animal technician as evidenced by appropriate degrees or certifications such as AALAS certifications. Supervisory experience preferred. Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds with assistance from floor to cart (approximately 8" above floor). Routine required bending, stooping, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
