The Product Instructor provides industry-leading, detailed training to clients, third party implementers, and employees on RedPrairie software, development standards, tools, and methodologies. In addition to delivering classes, the Product Instructor is responsible for the creation of software training databases and supporting the development of training class materials. The Product Instructor contributes to the product quality by continually testing and reporting problems to Quality Assurance. A results-driven individual, you’ll find yourself involved in:
- Deliver training to meet the defined needs of both internal and external customers during project assessment and transformation phases
- Support the information architects in the development of training materials for Product Training, Setup Training and Facility Training
- Support the development of content for and review the Web-based training modules
- Be on site at product go-lives for end-user training and floor support
- Write class review after product and setup training that includes customer “hot” spots, possible customizations and issues.
- Send and review to the Project Team immediately after training
- Review the Release Notes to ensure that they accurately reflect the product’s changes for the releases
- Assist Quality Assurance in testing new releases and issue PRs if product does not work as documented by product group
- Report training DB problems to the Product resource person and work with this person to resolve non-related data issues
- Develop and update training database to reflect new and updated functionality of the product release
- Create new exercise for Product Training class to reflect new functionality
- Ensure that update documentation is located in the training documentation CD folders
We’re looking for an insightful, persistent fact-finder and forecaster with:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering or related field required
- Advanced certification in adult training strongly preferred
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Strong desire to master and tech complex software applications, functional application of those applications, and the technical aspects of the implementation of those applications
- Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing or distribution operations to fit product across multiple customer types.
- Complete understanding of the product’s functional and/or technical capabilities Significant industry knowledge within the product’s space in the market
- Ability to trouble shoot
- Knowledge of PC connectivity and setup requirements to access training databases
- Sufficient knowledge of operating system and database in order to create, restore and use data for testing and training
- Ability to “sell” product and mange a client for up a week during product and set up training and during on site training
- Ability to learn changes in product functionality as new releases are developed
- Ability to understand and present complex topics and an organized train of thought
- Strong written and verbal communications
