Position Description
Provide nursing services to employees who are injured or ill. Administer treatment, provide emergency care, give medications and perform assessments within limits established and authorized by supervision and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, nursing manual, and/or health care provider's directions. Perform audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing and hearing testing. Refer cases requiring medical attention to a health care provider. Maintain clinic facilities, treatment areas, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Use the electronic medical information system to document and maintain employee medical records. Provide occupational health teaching, support safety efforts, and act as a focal for the site hearing conservation program. Consult on employee occupational health exam. needs and schedule employees for testing and examination by a health care provider. Ability to maintain medical confidentiality is required. Competencies Must be a registered nurse licensed in Oregon in good standing. A minimum of 5 years of recent postgraduate clinical experience in a related nursing field (ER, ICU, or Occupational Health clinic). Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizationals skills. Must work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Must have the ability to work within the organization's performance standards and to work independently. Must have excellent customer service skills and must be a team player. Knowledge of Worker's Compensation and OSHA preffered. Occupational Health experience and/or certification as an occupational health nurse is preferred. Education and/or Experience Diploma, AA degree or BSN required. BLS Certification required. ACLS is preferred. Other Job related information This is an hourly position that is governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.
