ABOUT THE ROLE:

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Java Guru to join our founding team of exceptional developers to innovate in the area of application management solutions for the cloud environment. This is a ground-floor opportunity with great rewards for a strong Java Technologist. The ideal technologist will be a big picture thinker with an exceptional ability to develop market changing software that will delight the customers. The ideal programmer will have a strong background in scalable database design experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs complex product design activities on systems software which require extensive research and analysis:
    • Performs design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems.
    • Participates in product design meetings.
  • Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products:
    • Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems.
    • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
  • Assist in performing on-site client work on complex systems.
  • Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives.
  • Documentation of development work.
  • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
  • Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of proven experience developing large-scale software applications.
  • 3+ years of experience in Java/J2EE and object-oriented development.
  • 3+ years of experience in high volume database design (MySQL ideal).
  • Prior start-up company experience is a must.
  • Past success at working in a fast pace and collaborative environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
