Linux Administrator

**** Candidates must be local to the Kansas City area****

Administer and manage the Linux/UNIX/AIX environment for a Fortune 500 company. Responsible for all aspects of Linux administration including hardware and software installations, upgrades, patches, maintenance, performance tuning, backup/restore strategies and activities, product reviews and recommendations, and system implementations. Works closely with IT groups including Database Administration, NT Administration, SAP Basis Administration, Network Administration, and Application Development to ensure all Linux UNIX/AIX systems run optimally and efficiently.

TECHNICAL COMPENTENCIES

1. Five years Linux experience -

2. Working knowledge of RedHat, Linux and web technology

3. Experience with IBM p Series hardware

4. Backup software experience -

5. Knowledgeable of SAN technologies

6. Capable of scripting
