Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this front line Director has 24-hour responsibility to ensure efficient day-to-day operations of Emergency Department through clinical, financial and performance management. Requires broad knowledge of clinical and administrative nursing standards and practices, and regulatory licensure and accrediting agency requirements and standards. All aspects of work performed within division are managed, excellent discretion and independent judgement are required, and decision making responsibility includes accountability for consequences and results. Functional application of managerial functions includes policy and procedure development and review; budget development and compliance; effective personnel practices; staff development and competency assessment activities; coordination and/or provision of inservice and staff education; and providing the vision and direction for accomplishment of department and organizational goals.
Qualifications/Experience:
· BSN degree or equivalent experience required with an advanced degree strongly preferred.
· Current registered nurse license
· Possesses clinical experience necessary to lead the care delivery process.
