Overview:

This position supports Marketing & Merchandising departments in developing weekly e-newsletters, maintaining company branded website and creating print pieces for 9 retail locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Graphic design, HTML and CSS.
  • Creates and maintains content for company branded website: RightStart.com
  • Creates and implements graphics for websites, e-newsletters and banner ads with HTML coding
  • Tests planned site updates and newsletters
  • Creates small and large print pieces for store locations on a monthly basis as well as when needed

    Requirements:
  • 2-3 years experience with website graphic design and HTML

Graphic Skills Required :

  • Design from scratch and ability to design using existing style guidelines
  • Strong PhotoShop image-manipulation skills
  • Optimize images for use on websites and in e-newsletter emails
  • Image cutting from backgrounds
  • Image resizing
  • Familiarity with PhotoShop masks, colors, gradients and effects
  • Adobe Creative Suite 4 is required
  • Flash development is highly desired but not required

HTML Skills Required :

  • Expert raw HTML coding experience. (No WYSIWYG)
  • Cascade Style Sheets
  • Complex nested tables as well as table-less CSS design
  • Ability to troubleshoot HTML issues rapidly
  • Conversion skills of a graphical page design into HTML code
  • JavaScript and retail/e-commerce experience a plus.

Business Skills :

  • Must be able to multi-task, communicate effectively and work under pressure.
  • Effectively work within tight deadlines and handle last-minute requests.
  • Strong problem solving skills required.
  • Proven ability to incorporate requirements and feedback into a design.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and skill levels.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education:

Bachelor or Associate degree in Graphic Design, related field or equivalent work experience.
