Ft, 5+ Yrs Exp'd Machine Shop Manager for a Channelview oil & gas service co. Develops machine shop procedures in coordination with company / oil industry (API) standards & objectives. Oversees & assures the set up and operation of all standard machines. Prioritizes & maintains work schedules based on production deadlines and ensures deadlines are met. Periodically checks machining operations to ensure operations are working to tolerance. Maintains a reporting system that reflects schedules, performance, and procedures. Makes budgetary recommendations for capital expenditures and manpower for machine shop area. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Primary Responsibility -Must have prior knowledge and experience working with outside processing resources (e.g. cleaning, heat treating, contract machining, painting etc.) -Must be able to analyze a product model and / or drawing and; come up with the most efficient way of manufacture. understand what it would take to machine (time, equipment, labor etc.) and be able to put together a quote interact continuously with the customer and/or engineering team to suggest design improvements for manufacturability. -Must be a leader, motivator and a problem-solver. -Must be results oriented and drive and motivate the manufacturing team to meet/beat safety, quality, delivery and productivity goals. -Must have prior working experience with ISO and API quality systems. -Must have machine shop experience.
