Sr Field Engineer I
Job Description: Provide mission support to the DGIF component of the DCGS system operating at Beale AFB, CA. Provide hardware, system, and network trouble-shooting to the DGIF system. Assist with the installation and checkout of new hardware and software verisons and patches. Perform debugging and analysis to determine failures and implement work arounds. Interface directly with end users to determine problems and interface with factory OEMs to resolve issues. Analyze system performance against technical requirements and make system improvement recommendations as needed. Develop maintenance documentation, drawings, and technical support information to facilitate maintenance repair actions.
Required Skills: 4+ years of hardware/network maintenance and troubleshooting on Unix systems. Direct experience on SUN platforms (or equivalent Unix platform), ethernet networks, routers and switches. HARDWARE: Cisco Ethernet/ATM bridges, switches, and routers. Sun Workstations and Servers (v490) in the Solaris 10 environment. Knowledge of networking to include TCP/IP protocol stack and routing.
Desired Skills: CCNA/CCNP, Cisco IOS, Sun Solaris 10, RF Theory, VOIP, Professional Certifications

CLEARANCE: EXISTING TS/SCI required
WORK: Non-standard work week, overtime maybe required. Shift work required.
TRAVEL: Some travel maybe required to support other sites, CONUS/OCONUS.
Required Education(including Major): BS in Electronics Technology/Electrical Engineering. Experience may be substituted in place of a bachelors degree.
