Company Information
The Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) serves individuals and families with developmental disabilities, such as mental retardation, autism, and developmental delays. AHRC was established in 1949 and continues to serve as the premier non-profit/human services agency in New York City.

Openings in all boro's, drivers license required except Manhattan area.

The Account Executive is the member of the marketing team responsible for developing relationships within the business sector that will result in opportunities for our job seekers. An Account Executive must be well versed in the various services our department provides and comfortable interacting with the highest level business people. Account Executives may make presentations to groups and will be creative and innovative in their efforts to make the benefits of hiring our job seekers known to the business community. Account Executives will work closely with Customer Service Managers to provide the best job matching for both our job seekers and business customers. Account Executives will ensure the provision of excellent customer service to all our customers in concert with Customer Service Managers and other EBS staff. Account Executives will be required to place 4 job seekers per month in jobs (at least 20 hours per week) for a total of 48 placements per year*. Placements after this requirement will be eligible for commission payments (the commission plan provides a detailed explanation of these payments). The Account Executive may be required to work a flexible or extended schedule from time to time.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promote widespread, positive image/knowledge of AHRC’s Employment & Business Services.
  • Initiate employer relationships through cold calling, involvement in business groups and other activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with employers and other business people in the industries targeted through the abilities and interests of our job seekers.
  • Accompany job seekers on interviews and help them to present themselves in the best light possible.
  • Account management in conjunction with the Customer Service Manager and other appropriate EBS staff.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

Ability Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • BA/BS plus 2 years marketing/sales/related experience
  • Experience with people with disabilities/youth helpful
  • Need Clean NYS driver’s license and car for Bronx and Staten Island area

Relationships (Staff & Supervisory):

  • Primary supervisor is assistant director
  • Works with other Account Executives and Customer Service Managers to develop & maintain sites and to disseminate information and provide top quality customer service to all EBS customers.
  • Works with all EBS staff to ensure top quality customer service to all EBS customers.

*New Account Executives will be required to make 42 placements in the first year of employment and Account Executives new to a particular territory will be required to make 44 placements for the first year.
