Summary: Plan, direct, organize and control the marketing activities of the organization to ensure objectives are achieved, plans fulfilled, and member needs met. Supervise marketing staff and work with senior management to develop and plan operational objectives, services, and programs that will support the organizations’ strategic vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and corresponding budgets.

  • Conduct and analyze market research for current and potential members.

  • Supervise data input and manipulation of MCIF information for member market segmentation and analysis of product/member profitability.

  • Oversee development of promotional campaigns, including POS, collateral, direct mail, packaging and advertising.

  • Work with advertising and direct mail vendors as appropriate.

  • Develop and monitor member and employee newsletters, public relations programs and activities.

  • Actively participate in the product development process.

  • Articulate product positioning, key benefits and value proposition.

  • Assist in the development of training materials and other aspects of product launch.

  • Participate in organizational decisions, including product pricing, fee income, and asset/liability.

  • Prepare, present and interpret reports pertaining to areas of responsibility for management and Board.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remain attuned to regulations and legislation issues pertaining to financial institutions and monitor marketing practices to ensure compliance.
  • Hire, review and evaluate performance of subordinates, coaching and counseling as necessary.

  • Support credit union goals and actively participate in training sessions and special promotions.

  • Contribute to credit union growth and profitability goals.

  • Work to increase knowledge in technical skills and professional development through available internal and external resources.

  • Demonstrate proficiency and ability of core competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint. Knowledge of creative software and Symitar a plus.
