Symantec Endpoint Security products are the
core of Symantec’s security strategy for the enterprise. The company’s
flagship product, Symantec Endpoint Protection, provides industry
leading protection to small and medium size businesses as well as
world’s largest enterprises. Built on cutting-edge technologies (many
of which protect millions of consumer desktops in our sister product
line – Norton Internet Security and Norton 360), the system offers
anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, intrusion prevention system,
application control, device control, and proactive threat scanning that
can be centrally managed through a scalable architecture.

Responsibilities
|
|
• Will be responsible for designing and
developing installs, patching, and deployment for Symantec Endpoint
Protection, Symantec's premier security product and the associated
products during their entire life cycle
• Designs, develops, maintains and implements software modules in a given product
• Participates in the definition of the lifecycle of software process and in code reviews
• With little or no supervision, completes analysis of partially
defined tasks, completes major portions of complex functional
specs/design documents or entire documents and completes development
and/or maintenance assignments
• Collaborates within and across groups in writing functional and
design specifications, development schedules and user interface
specifications
• Identifies and suggests solutions to problems of significant scope
• Generates engineering test plans from functional specification documents
• Uses professional concepts and company policies and procedures to
solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical
ways
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Qualifications
|
|
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Strong C++ development experience
• Experience with commercial software
• Experience working with large component teams
• Experience with complex projects and schedules
• In-depth knowledge of Windows configurations such as registries, services, executables, activeX, COM, and processes
• Fit in and work well with a large team, self motivated, and great attitude
• Must have: C++, COM
• Preferred: WiX, Active Directory, SMS, network topology and management

engineer, but we will consider more senior experienced candidates for
the role as well. This role allows strong growth paths in development
in all aspects of our development needs. Must be able to work/commute
in Culver City, CA - our large site near Los Angeles, CA. |
