GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The ISNT is responsible for overseeing the hardware and software installation and maintenance for the Texas MedClinic network infrastructure including, but not limited, to a SCO Open Server 5 Unix server, multiple Microsoft Windows 2000 servers and a mixed client base of Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, and Microsoft Windows 98 PC’s. This person is required to interact regularly with computer users (medical personnel, billing personnel, physicians, managers, and the owner) and our outside vendors in a tactful, diplomatic and pleasant way.
The company has seven remote sites in the San Antonio area in addition to the home office. The ISNT should have a good working knowledge of modern networking infrastructure, the TCP/IP protocol and be willing to travel to the remote sites as needed for troubleshooting and repair.
The ISNT will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of all servers to include: ensuring continuous functionality of all hardware and software, performing and ensuring viability of daily backups, user maintenance, cleanup of temporary files, performing software and hardware upgrades as required and other tasks as assigned by the ISD. The ISNT will be responsible for functionality of all client hardware and software including installation, upgrades, and maintenance.
The ISNT should also have working knowledge of the following application software that is used regularly by Texas MedClinic: Microsoft Office 2000 Professional components, Internet Explorer, and Millbrook Practice Manager.
The successful ISNT will have the opportunity to learn classical systems analysis and design and to participate in the future development and maintenance of mission-critical applications.
WORK HOURS: The normal work-week is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but the ISNT will be expected to be willing to be on-call evenings and weekends in order to support the needs of the remote sites and to do occasional systems maintenance after hours.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Associate’s Degree in related field or at least two years work experience in a similar job. High school diploma
