Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Administers comprehensive physical therapy services to patients. Provides direct patient care, testing analyses, and evaluations of seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems, and formulates a treatment plan which is consistent with the patient's needs. Communicates regularly with others involved in the patient's care. Provides consultation and direct assistance to staff and physicians in the management of patients. Follows established protocols for documentation. Utilizes community resources to plan for the continued care, support and follow-up of the patient after discharge. Assists in supervising staff and students and in developing in-service training programs for continuing staff development. Assesses or assists staff in assessing complex patient's problems. Observes organizational and universal standards for sterile technique and infection control in carrying out daily responsibilities. Assists in developing, evaluating and revising policies and procedures. Supports quality assurance by ensuring that daily practices are consistent with established standards for patient care research. Assists in developing staff schedules, conducting in-service education, and training staff and students. Properly maintains equipment and work areas. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy school by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Georgia. Two years of experience as a physical therapist.

Previous experience in acute care orthopedics.
