Job Description
Responsibilities:
CM is regionally responsible for procurement strategies and implementation for Mechanical Commodities used in the Americas Wind Power business. Strategies are elaborated within global commodity team and include international markets (Mexico, Brazil, US and Asia).
CM leads cross-functional teams with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development and external resources to ensure supplier readiness. CM drives the Sourcing strategy being implemented by the operative Procurement staff in the manufacturing locations.
Duties include Strategic purchasing within the team responsible for the following Mechanical Commodities: Steel / Aluminum Fabrications, Castings, Forgings, Bearings, Custom Fixtures for Transportation. Also guiding operational buyers on a pier/matrix basis. In addition development of strategic sourcing concepts and cost reduction roadmap for commodities as well as increasing North American share on total cost basis. In coordination with Global Commodity Teams this role will actively identify and develop suppliers in the entire Americas region. Responsible for assuring material supply security (capacity-wise) and implement contracts to secure operational business. Providing formal Supplier Management of assigned supply base as well as representation in related Siemens commodity circles.
